FAIRVIEW TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Budget Review Meeting
September 30, 2013

I. CALL TO ORDER:

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Brown, at 3:00 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: William C. Brown, Chairman
Mario D. Pirritano, Vice Chairman
John C. Minito, Supervisor
Robert P. Stanley, Jr., Supervisor
Christopher L. Allen, Supervisor
Stephen F. Smith, Manager
Donald F. Martin, Assistant Manager

III. RECOGNITION OF PUBLIC:

There was no public comment.

IV. REVIEW AND DISCUSSION – PRELIMINARY 2014 BUDGET:

Mr. Martin presented the first draft of the 2014 budget. The following items were discussed:

• The General Fund has a $400K deficit due to the proposed installation of traffic signals at Lewisberry Road and I-83 southbound ramp and Fishing Creek Road and I-83 northbound ramp.

• The Sewer Fund has a $600K deficit due to constant required repairs am the additional debt for the Act 537 project.

• The Refuse Fund, for the past two years, has been covering the costs of the increased tipping fee that Penn Waste passed on to the township.

V. OTHER BUSINESS:

No other business was discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
